“Since retiring from the Navy 10 years ago, I’ve spent most of my life in and out of the hospital for tests, surgeries, physical therapy, you name it. Although the injuries I sustained in combat left me handicapped, I’ve convinced myself I am capable of working and living a productive life.
“Prior to 2014, the last tax return I filed was in 2004. In 2014, I received a letter from the IRS demanding payment of $45,000 for taxes they said I owed for 2006, 2007 and 2008. I had no idea what to do.
“Upon contacting AMA-VAF, I sent 2 boxes of tax documents to their office in Colorado. The next day they had my account placed “on hold” until submission of the last 8 years of tax returns was completed and the returns were properly filed and processed.
“Soon after, I received another letter from the IRS stating my returns were processed and my total income tax bill for 2006 through 2013 was just over $11,000. AMA-VAF negotiated to have this balance placed in a “currently non-collectible status” so any enforced collections were ceased.
“AMA-VAF saved me from aggressive collection action and now I have more time to focus on my health issues and more time for healing. The folks at AMA-VAF are angels.”
